Rosacea

Rosacea is a disorder of the face that results in redness, prominent blood vessels, swelling of the pores, and skin eruptions similar to acne. This is also referred to as "adult acne". The cause of Rosacea is unknown.

Rosacea mostly occurs in fair skinned people, particularly those who blush easily. Women are most commonly affected, although men are more severely affected.

Symptoms usually begin to appear between the ages of 30-50, most often seen in middle-aged people. The signs of Rosacea are:

* redness of the face or cheeks similar to a rash

* a tendency to flush or blush easily

* increased vascularity of the face

* a red, often enlarged nose

* acne-like skin eruptions

* burning or stinging sensation of the face

There is no cure for Rosacea at this time however, symptoms can be controlled and your appearance can be treated

About Laser Rosacea Therapy Procedures

The best treatment for the signs of Rosacea can be done with only a few treatments using the Aura laser system. We can reduce or remove spider-like veins (telangectasia) on the cheeks, nose or chin in as little as one treatment.

Most of our patients require no anesthetic and can immediately return to their daily routine, however you may request a prescription for a topical anesthetic if desired.
