Pre-treatment requirements:
If scheduling an enhanced skin rejuvenation treatment, do not tan for four weeks prior to treatment area and apply SPF 30 or higher sunblock daily when outdoors.
Discontinue all Retin-A, Renova, glycolic acids, vitamin C products, and anything else that may cause skin irritation for three days before treatment.
Inform us if you have taken Accutane within the past 12 months.
Inform us of any changes in your medical history since your last visit.
Inform us if you have had chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser resurfacing or a face-lift since your last visit.
Remove makeup, cleanse and completely dry the area to be treated prior to treatment.
Apply a topical anestetic, if desired, 45-60minutes pre-treatment.
Do not use aspririn, alcohol, NSAID's (ibuprofen, Naprosyn, ect.), gingko, St. John's wart, and Zithromax for 5 days prior to treatment.
Post-treatment requirements:
Cool compresses can be used, if needed, to decrease redness or swelling.
Wash area with a gentle cleanser, cool or tepid water, and use your hands only. Pat dry.
A moisturizer containing SPF30 sunblock or higher should be applied daily, and reapplied during the day if necessary.
Avoid prolonged sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks post treatment.
Use of Retin-A, Renova, glycolic acids, vitamin C products, and any other potential irritants may be started after all irritation from the procedure resolves.
Please call us if you experience any redness or swelling beyond 24 hours.
Take anti-viral medications as prescribed for any history of "fever blisters" or cold sores".
Do not take excessively hot showers, baths, or saunas for 48 hours after treatment.
Post treatment expectations:
Mild redness and swelling may occur and typically last from a few hours to at most a few days.
Acne breakouts may initially be slightly worse in the first few days post treatment.
Sunspots may initially darken or turn gray for the first 1-2 weeks and then may become lighter.
Take anti-viral medication as prescribed for any history of "fever blisters" or "cold sores".
